Timeout on the field

It seems some of my posts at 2:00 in the morning after a day of touring and taking care of little one and other stuff have generated some spirited discussion. This might be a good time to call a truce. For those who know me, you know my heart and how I am. For those of you who don't, I can understand how my posts come across as irrereverant (somebody check my spelling). Unfortunately, as wonderful as some say the written word is, it can at times not convey the true intent of the author. With that said, I am thankful that many have commented, as they see fit, on our life changing experience. We should all be thankful that we have this kind of freedom to comment. I have just returned from a country where one's opinion or beliefs is many times not tolerated. As I type this, I think of my Chinese friends who have lost jobs due to their faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. So, my encouragement to all is be thankful for the opportunity that the Lord has given us to express ourselves freely in this country (a day is probably soon coming where we cannot do that).

I will throw this out, however. While my daughter is Chinese by birth, she will not be raised Chinese. It is not because I don't like China, it is because I am not Chinese. I am American. And yet, she is not really going to be raised "American" either. She will be taught the same as my son that this world is not our home. No matter what our heritage, what our past may be, it is our future that we strive for. My Chinese born daughter, raised in America, will be taught to think Jewish for our God has chosen to reveal Himself through His Word, written by Jews. She will know Him and His legacy and His past and His future. That is the greatest gift I can give her or my son, the knowledge of the One who can save them.

Guess I'll be the first to comment!
No matter what anyone says, I KNOW that no one in the Greer family would ever say anything to hurt anyone intentionally. Having said that......

Yazi is the luckiest little girl in the world to have you as her parents and have Spencer as her brother. I am so thankful that she will be rasied in a Christian home where love abounds.

Jeff, Michelle and Spencer, I hope you know how much the Harrison family loves you (even on those days when we had to wash oil from Jeff's work clothes!!). I agree that to be a part of the Greer family is a blessing in itself! What a great addition Yazi will make.

I'm trying to figure out how to get to Arkansas soon!

You have our love and support ALWAYS!

So glad you are home!!! I have been checking to see when you were getting back. I saw what was said on your site and let me say this... I have been so impressed with your wisdom during this entire process and I see in you a spiritual maturity that I know blesses those who truly know your heart. Yazi is a very lucky little girl and I can't wait to meet her.

About that comment from whoever....Do not spend one minute regretting anything you said on your blog. You kept me in stitches. I know you didn't mean anything unkind by any of it. And besides,Yazi will spend years making fun of you... trust me!! Seriously, I was so entertained reading what you wrote. You also ministered to me through your optimism and dedication. I am so proud of what you and Michelle have done. God knew exactly who to give this task to!!! So, press on!!!
Love always,
Cousin Cindy Lou (who)

**and by the way, don't get caught up in my being sweet to you... It's just temporary. hahahahaha Tell your loser dad I said hello and hug your mom for me.

Pictures are coming. I haven't quite got everything squared away at home yet. Oddly enough I get tired at night so I go to bed. I'll put some on tonight.

It was so good to see you all on Monday!! I wondered for a bit if I might have to seperate Sue and Jo!!! LOL I think it probably would have taken more than me to come between them let alone between them and Yazi!!!! Who, by the way, its breathtaking!
I hope you know the joy you all have brought to my heart and how you have touched me by letting me be a part of your journey through your blog. This has been such a blessing. Thank you.
Hugs and kisses to Spencer and Yazi, take care and hope to see you soon!
