The Tea Room
In conjunction with the museum trip, we also visited a tea shop. When the Chinese have a nice place, they go all out to make sure it crafted very well. The inside of the tea room was beautiful. Thought we might take you on a tour, Spencer is your guide. This is the entrance to the main area from the foyer. The Chinese are very particular about their tea. This ain't your gallon of cold Luzianne sweet tea. This is washed Oolong, Green, Rose, or Jasmine tea leaves served with hot water that is guaranteed to fry your taste buds for a week. The Rose tea was actually quite good, in my opinion.

Spencer is now showing you the fountain to the right of the foyer. Running water always gets me in the mood for tea drinking.

To the left of the foyer are sculptures. Everything is high craftsmanship.

Especially the tea pots. Hand made, it takes three days to make these tea pots. Perfectly sealed without the use of rubber gaskets, the clay lids fit perfectly. The dragon teapot is on the left, the phoenix on the right. Dragon represents male, particularly the emperor, the phoenix represents the female, particularly the princess or queen.

Spencer is demonstrating the proper technique for pouring your tea. The teapots do not spill, leak, or have that run down the side thing that gets all over your counter when you are trying to pour someone something to drink.

Story: The ladies here are enamored by Spencer. I don't think they see very many blond haired blue eyed American boys if they have seen them at all. The lady on the right works at the shop, the one on the left is having tea. They asked if Spencer could come over there with them. They rubbed his face, his hands, his hair and said that he was going to be a superstar. Then, they just held his hands. He was very gentlemenly toward the whole deal. Ladies on the street stare at him. and today, a lady with housekeeping stopped by to deliver something and went gaga over him. Went over to him, rubbed his face, and said handsome boy, handsome boy. I don't know if its good luck for them or what, but he has had an interesting time.

Last post tonight. I'm going to bed cuz it's two in the morning. We will have internet tomorrow. Don't know if we will keep it any more days. I leave you with this picture.
